New York Giants starting safety Xavier McKinney went down with an injury during Week 9. The only issue? The Giants were on a bye week instead of playing live football.

Unfortunately, McKinney suffered his injury away from the football field. The third-year pro tweeted out a frustrating explanation for this non-football issue on Monday.

McKinney explains that he went away to Cabo during the team's bye week. One of his vacation activities included a "guided sight-seeing tour on ATVs" when the mysterious injury happened.

According to McKinney, he'll be "sidelined for a few weeks."

New York must do what they can to avoid this distraction causing major issues with a strong start. The team is 6-2 and heads into Week 10 with a very winnable game against the Houston Texans. As it stands, the Giants are considered 6.5-point home favorites per NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
