Wimbledon Betting Odds Favor Nadal Over Federer in Men's Singles Semifinal Match
By Dan Israeli

For the 40th time in their historic rivalry, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will square off on the tennis court – this time in the 2019 Wimbledon semifinals on Friday, July 12. It will be their first head-to-head match at the All England Club since their epic, five-set final in 2008, a match that Nadal won, 9-7, in the fifth and final set.
Looking at the odds, Nadal is favored (-128) over Federer (+108) to advance to this year's Wimbledon final, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The winner will take on either Novak Djokovic or Roberto Bautista Agut, who face off in the first match on Centre Court on Friday.

While Federer has had the edge on Nadal in career Grand Slam victories (20 to 18), the Spaniard has dominated his Swiss rival in the head-to-head matchups (24-15). Nadal's dominance at the French Open, which includes the last three straight titles, is one particular reason Nadal has had the upper hand over the past 15 years, as he is 6-0 against Federer at Roland-Garros.
Federer does have the edge at Wimbledon, however, with a 2-1 mark versus Nadal. While Nadal did win their last match at Wimbledon, the aforementioned final in 2008, Federer prevailed in the two previous championship matches in 2006 and 2007.

The last match between the two came in the 2019 French Open semifinals, where Nadal won in straight sets (6-3, 6-4, 6-2). Nadal went on to win a record 12th French Open title just a few weeks back.
Federer, whose 20 Grand Slam titles is the most in men's singles tennis history, is also the king of Wimbledon with a record eight victories there. His most recent Wimbledon title came in 2017.
With a battle of two tennis greats, tomorrow's semifinal is sure to be must-see TV with the victor moving one step closer to another Grand Slam championship.
