After missing the first two weeks of the 2021 NFL season, Will Fuller is officially back. He returned to the Miami Dolphins following a personal issue that forced him to miss Week 2.
Of course, Fuller also missed Week 1 as he served the remainder of a suspension from last season. But, now with Fuller back in the Dolphins starting lineup, fantasy managers are eager to see what sort of production they can expect from the sixth-year wideout.
Will Fuller Fantasy Outlook
Fuller is fresh off a career-year, something he accomplished while playing in just 11 games for the Houston Texans. His season ended early, but prior to the suspension the playmaker put up 53 receptions for 879 yards and 8 touchdowns. That stat line was good for WR19 status through the first 11 weeks of the season.
That all came with the Texans and quarterback Deshaun Watson, though. It could be tough for him to replicate those numbers with Tua Tagovailoa, who is questionable to play in Week 3. Miami also has a much deeper skill-position group that features Jaylen Waddle, DeVante Parker and Mike Gesicki. Last year in Houston, Fuller barely had any competition outside of WR Brandin Cooks.
Plus, Fuller has always struggled with availability. On top of the 2020 suspension, the newest Dolphins wideout has a bad history of injury troubles. He's only played more than 15 games in a season once throughout his first five NFL years in the league.
Given the uncertainty of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, it's tough to view Fuller as anything more than a FLEX option against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3. But it will be important to monitor his usage assuming he and Tua both play.
Fuller could have some legit season-long upside if he emerges as the No. 1 WR in this Dolphins' passing attack.
