The Cincinnati Bengals will aim to win their third consecutive game when they go on the road to take on the New York Jets in Week 7 NFL action. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Bengals slated as 11.5-point favorites in a game that could very well get out of hand by halftime.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 8 AFC clash.
Joe Mixon Fantasy
Start Joe Mixon, RB, Cincinnati Bengals: Of course, fantasy managers rostering Joe Mixon are going to start him this week. This is rather a recommendation to target him in daily fantasy leagues as he has the potential to finish at the top running back in Week 8. The Jets have been terrible against the run and are giving up an average 127.5 rushing yards per game (No. 25 in NFL). Mixon is a lock to see double-digit carries and the game script here works in his favor. The Bengals are 11.5 point favorites and could be up early in this one. That means head coach Zac Taylor would lean on Mixon to keep the chains moving and the clock ticking.
Corey Davis Fantasy
Start Corey Davis, WR, New York Jets: There isn't much to like about the New York Jets offense right now from a fantasy football perspective. In fact, the only player on the team worth starting this week is wide receiver Corey Davis. Davis has seen at least 5 targets in every game this season and has scored 4 touchdowns as well. The Jets are in danger of being blown out once again, which means they are likely going to have to throw the ball a ton on Sunday. That is good news for Davis. The 26-year-old remains a viable FLEX option against Cincinnati.
Tyler Boyd Fantasy
Sit Tyler Boyd, WR, Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals put on a passing clinic in Week 7, yet Tyler Boyd still failed to put together a solid performance. He hauled in 4 of his 7 targets for just 39 yards. Meanwhile, Ja'Marr Chase racked up 201 receiving yards and Tee Higgins saw a whopping 15 targets. It is clear that Boyd is becoming a third option for quarterback Joe Burrow and he draws a tough matchup in Week 8. The possibility of a blowout is looming and the Jets have given up just 3 receiving touchdowns to opposing WRs this season (T-No. 2 in NFL). Boyd comes with little upside this week.
Michael Carter Fantasy
Sit Michael Carter, RB, New York Jets: Much like Boyd, the game script in this one does not brighten Michael Carter's fantasy outlook at all. The rookie out of North Carolina has surpassed 40 rushing yards in only one game this season and is averaging a low 3.5 yards per carry. The Bengals' defense enters this matchup giving up just 94.0 rushing yards per game, which is the seventh-lowest mark in the NFL. The only upside Carter has is that his presence in the passing attack gives him a boost in PPR scoring leagues. It's just not a big enough boost to warrant a start this week.
