Week 17 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Lions vs Seahawks in Fantasy Football Playoffs
By Larry Rupp

The Seattle Seahawks will look to bounce back from a tough Week 16 loss when they host the Detroit Lions in Week 17 NFL action. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Seahawks slated as 7.5-point home favorites in a game that could go a long way in deciding fantasy football championships.
Fantasy Football Playoffs Advice
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 17 NFC clash.
D'Andre Swift Fantasy
Start D'Andre Swift, RB, Detroit Lions: Running back D'Andre Swift is expected to return from a shoulder injury in Week 17 and he couldn't have asked for a better matchup. The Seahawks are giving up the second-most PPR fantasy points to opposing RBs, which includes a league-high 1,000 receiving yards. Swift is averaging 39.0 receiving yards per game and that could come in handy if the Lions find themselves playing from behind. Keep in mind that Swift averages over 17 PPR fantasy points per game this season. Simply put, he is a stud when healthy. Fantasy managers that have been stashing Swift on the bench can feel comfortable starting him on Sunday.
Rashaad Penny Fantasy
Start Rashaad Penny, RB, Seattle Seahawks: Finding players on the waiver wire that can contribute down the stretch in the playoffs can be crucial for fantasy football success. Seattle running back Rashaad Penny has taken on that role perfectly after posting over 19 PPR fantasy points in two of the last three weeks. He is being treated as the workhorse RB on this offense and now gets to face a Detroit defense that has posted the fifth-worst rush defense DVOA rating in the NFL. Overall, the Lions are giving up 127.3 rushing yards per game (No. 27 in NFL). Penny is a rock-solid RB2 option this week.
Tim Boyle Fantasy
Sit Tim Boyle QB, Detroit Lions: It's hard to believe that any fantasy managers still fighting for a championship would have quarterback Tim Boyle rostered on their team. However, Jimmy Garoppolo is not likely to play this week and Kirk Cousins has been placed on the COVID-19 list. Boyle should still not jump into streaming consideration this week. The third-year pro has not passed for over 190 yards in either of his two starts this season and has accounted for 3 interceptions. His upside is limited against an improving Seattle secondary. There are a ton of better options at the QB position.
Seattle Seahawks D/ST Fantasy
Sit Seattle Seahawks D/ST: It's easy to see a matchup against the disappointing Lions' offense and think that streaming the Seahawks D/ST is a good idea this week. Seattle has not been productive at all this season, though. This is a defense that has caused just 1 turnover over the last three weeks and ranks No. 22 in fantasy scoring. Seattle has been eliminated from postseason contention and the loss of safety Jamal Adams only adds to the long list of reasons to avoid this D/ST. Fantasy managers in a bind are likely to have higher-upside options available.
