The 2019 WNBA season will tip off on May 24 and this year's initial favorite to win the WNBA Championship is the team that fell just short of winning it all in 2018.
The Washington Mystics (+230), who lost to the Seattle Storm in the 2018 WNBA Finals last season, are the preseason favorites to win this year's WNBA Championship, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The defending champion Storm have +1200 odds to win the title, behind six other teams including the Connecticut Sun (+480), the Los Angeles Sparks (+480) and the Phoenix Mercury (+500). One team with somewhat surprising odds is the Las Vegas Aces at +600 as they missed the playoffs last season.

The Storm will be without All-Star forward Breanna Stewart, who tore her Achilles and is out for the season. That's likely the reason for Seattle's long odds heading into 2019.
With a full season yet to be played, these odds are sure to shift as the season rolls along. But the Mystics look like the team to beat, according to the odds, making them the lead dog heading into the 2019 WNBA season.
