The Minnesota Vikings are going to be without their superstar running back in Week 5. Dalvin Cook is officially inactive due to an ankle injury. This will be Cook's second missed game of the season.

Minnesota will likely ask his backup Alexander Mattison to handle a heavy workload against the Detroit Lions.

Dalvin Cook Injury Update

Cook tried to fight through the ankle issue in Week 4 after sitting out in Week 3. But he didn't look like himself, playing a season-low 49% of the snaps and turning 11 touches into just 44 yards from scrimmage.

Losing Cook will hurt Minnesota, but Mattison is more than capable of carrying the load. When he had the backfield to himself in Week 3, he turned 32 touches into 171 yards from scrimmage. Mattison won't be nearly as explosive as Cook, yet this Vikings offense should be just fine.

Minnesota enters this one as a 10-point favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
