VIDEO: Remembering When Jason Witten Broke the Pro Bowl Trophy as an Analyst
By michael obermuller

Jason Witten, the player, is a legendary NFL tight end. Jason Witten, the analyst, however, provided more laughs than he did insight at the end of the 2019 NFL Pro Bowl. And here's one Witten blunder that immediately went viral.
It's hard to say whether Witten just forgot his own strength after switching to the booth, or if the NFL Pro Bowl budget is really as cheap as that trophy seemed, but Jamal Adams' reaction says it all. Maybe this moment even inspired the tight end to come out of retirement shortly afterward.
One thing's for sure, Witten plays this off as if he's broken stuff before. He doesn't even flinch as Adams and Patrick Mahomes attempt to fix the damage, proceeding with his attempt to hand them their prize. His only reaction is a goofy laugh and the comment, "get her down below."
There has to be an NFL executive somewhere thinking, 'there goes years and years of history in a single grip.' But what a grip it was, the same one that blocked countless NFL defenders, the same one that caught touchdowns with ease, and the same one that stiff-armed tacklers to the ground.

That may be the last time they put Witten down on the sidelines near the trophy, but they couldn't keep him off the field. The veteran tight end is now back in pads for the Las Vegas Raiders, and maybe he'll just put those hands to good use one last time.
