VIDEO: Remembering When a High School Baseball Player Annihilated Pigeon With Point-Blank Ground Ball 1 Year Later

Most people have seen the old video of Randy Johnson killing a bird that flew into the path of one of his vicious fastballs back in the day. It's something we had never seen before and something many thought we might never see again.
Well, it happened again during a high school baseball game in May of 2019, roughly one year ago to the date. Except this time it came off the bat, not the mound. And as you can imagine, similar to Johnson's fastball, it did not work out well for the bird.
As the pitcher got set and prepared to go into his windup, you could see the pigeon slowly walking into the field of play. Then the pitch came in, the batter hit a screaming ground ball and, BOOM, lights out for the pigeon.

You hate to see an innocent bird fall victim for simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. There's really nothing anyone could have done. It feels like there's a better chance of winning the lottery than that bird getting hit right there.

Although, as Happy Gilmore would say, "he shouldn't have been standing there!"
