Kris Bryant has been on fire since he arrived in San Francisco after being acquired from the Chicago Cubs at the trade deadline. He is slashing .314/.385/.514 in his nine games with the Giants thus far. Already with a number of big hits, Bryant added another one on Tuesday night.
This one came in the form of an unusual walk-off.
With two outs, Bryant hit a rocket grounder to the first basemen, who wasn't able to handle it cleanly, and Bryant slid into first safe as the pitcher tried to cover on a late and arrant throw.
Baseball players and teams will take hits anyways they can get them, and walk-off ones that much more. It might not have been a conventional walk-off hit, but it looks all the same in the box score, and that's the only thing that matters.
