Optimism is high in Denver as the Broncos head into the 2020 NFL season with sophomore quarterback Drew Lock at the helm.

The team went 4-1 in Lock's five starts in 2019, and now they've surrounded him with as much talent as possible in hopes of maximizing the potential of their hopeful franchise QB.

Early returns are looking good, as Lock is throwing some absolute dimes at Broncos training camp.

A second-round pick out of Missouri in the 2019 NFL Draft, Lock threw for 1,020 yards with 7 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions in his five starts as a rookie.

Those numbers are made more impressive by the players he was throwing to — DaeSean Hamilton and Tim Patrick were his No. 2 and 3 wideouts behind Courtland Sutton. Now, rookies Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler give him an upgrade on the outside, while the addition of Melvin Gordon into the backfield should provide a boost as well.

The start of the NFL season is less than a month away, and Broncos fans will be happy to know that Lock looks like he's already in game shape.
