VIDEO: Brewers' No. 2 Prospect Makes Pair of Highlight Catches on Tuesday

The Milwaukee Brewers have managed to maintain a talented farm system all while being playoff contenders in each of the past four seasons. One of the prized players in the organization is outfielder Joey Wiemer, who's risen up the ranks after being a fourth-round pick in 2020.

After the pair of highlight-reel plays he made on Tuesday, it's no wonder he's considered the Brewers' No. 2 prospect.

Wiemer, more known for his power at the plate, showed off his glove skills with a pair of insane catches against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. The 23-year-old leaped at the wall to rob a home run in the top of the third inning, and made another web gem in the eighth to deny Pensacola an extra-base hit.

These types of plays are exactly what make the Cincinnati product so exciting. He's off to a torrid start in Double-A this season, slashing .288/.384/.546 with 14 home runs and 42 RBIs.

If Wiemer keeps it up, he should earn a Triple-A promotion in no time. He and No. 1 prospect Sal Frelick give Milwaukee a bright future in the outfield.
