Top Fantasy Football Streaming Quarterbacks for Week 5

While there's no question as to the importance of the quarterback position in real football, that's not always the case in fantasy football. If you're playing in a standard one-QB league, the position isn't typically accounting for a huge share of your fantasy points in any given week. The evolution of passing offense in the NFL has also given us a huge number of options that are viable in fantasy football.
This depth, which includes players like Matt Stafford, Marcus Mariota and Jacoby Brissett sitting in the top 10 for fantasy scoring, means that you can find viable starting options on the waiver wire every week.
These three quarterbacks are owned in 50 percent or less of Yahoo! Fantasy Football leagues and are solid starting options thanks to their favorable matchups in Week 5.
3. Gardner Minshew II, Jacksonville Jaguars (20% Owned)
To say Gardner Minshew has been a pleasant surprise for the Jacksonville Jaguars would be an understatement. Taking over for Nick Foles early in Week 1, he has thrown seven touchdowns with only one interception on 84-of-121 passing. Despite not starting that first game, his 68.4 fantasy points rank 15th among QBs on the year, putting him one spot ahead of Aaron Rodgers. He's shown a ton of consistency, eclipsing 16 fantasy points in all four games, and so even though he gets a relatively tough matchup against the Carolina Panthers, Minshew is still a viable option in a pinch this week. He's the least exciting of these three streaming options, but he's also the most widely-available.
2. Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals (33% Owned)
Monday's dud may have soured you on Andy Dalton, but one bad game doesn't override his solid start to 2019. He notched 20.7, 18.6 and 16.1 fantasy points in his first three games, even though two of those games were against teams that rank top-five in Football Outsiders' pass defense DVOA rankings. In Week 5, he's in his easiest matchup yet, taking on an Arizona Cardinals team that has allowed the league's second-most adjusted yards per pass attempt (10.0) and the third-most fantasy points per game (24.3) to opposing QBs.
1. Jacoby Brissett, Indianapolis Colts (50% Owned)
This makes three straight weeks on the QB streaming list for Jacoby Brissett, who will likely be owned in too many leagues to make the list in the future. His 76.1 fantasy points rank ninth at the position this year, and Brissett has topped 20 fantasy points in each of his last two games. The Indianapolis Colts have a tough matchup ahead of them against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5, but it's still a good spot for their players' fantasy value. The Chiefs are allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing QBs, also giving up the NFL's 14th-most points and 12th-most passing yards. This game also has some serious shootout potential, with FanDuel Sportsbook posting a week-high 57-point over/under, meaning the Colts should do plenty of scoring even as hefty underdogs.
