Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was clicking on all cylinders against the Miami Dolphins. He racked up 5 touchdowns (for the second time this season) along with 411 yards, but it turns out the 44-year-old picked up a thumb injury at some point during Sunday's contest.
Brady discussed his current ailment ahead of Tampa Bay's Thursday night game.
Tom Brady Injury
Brady doesn't seem too concerned about his thumb injury, which is a huge sigh of relief for Bucs fans. The QB even highlighted a laundry list of other hand-related injuries he's had before that were much worse.
“I broke my ring finger on my right hand. I tore ligaments in my middle finger. I tore ligaments in my pointer finger. Ripped my thumb almost apart one time. But this is something hopefully I can work through pretty quickly. It’s a little bit sore but nothing I’m not used to. I’ve certainly had worse.”- Tom Brady
Brady avoiding anything major and just dealing with soreness is great news as Tampa Bay prepares to suit up on a short week.
The three-time MVP finds himself in that conversation once again with his start to the year. Brady has thrown for a league-leading 149 completions and 1,767 passing yards along with 15 touchdowns to just 2 interceptions.
The Bucs are 7-point favorites entering their Thursday night matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
