The Miami Dolphins have made a number of big-name additions this offseason, but the team could still use some more under-the-radar moves to help fill out the roster. One such target could be San Francisco 49ers running back Matt Breida.

Playing in a loaded backfield, Breida could find himself on the trade block this offseason, and Miami would be wise to call about his availability.

Matt Breida Trade to Dolphins

Miami definitely has a need at the position. Last season, no Dolphins' RB racked up more than 201 rushing yards. In fact, Ryan Fitzpatrick finished as the team's leading rusher, with just 243 yards. They did go out and sign Jordan Howard, but he's more of a power back, and Breida could be an excellent change-of-pace option.

Breida has racked up more than 615 yards while also averaging at least 5.1 yards per carry in each of the last two seasons. Despite that productivity, though, Breida fell behind on the 49ers' depth chart, losing carries to Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman down the stretch.

With Jeff Wilson Jr. and Jerick McKinnon also on the roster, Breida is an expendable piece. The 49ers placed a second-round tender on him, making him a restricted free agent, but they'd likely be willing to settle for less, as they don't have a single pick between Rounds 2-4.

Miami is armed with the most draft capital in the league. If the Dolphins decide to part ways with a mid-round selection, the deal could make a lot of sense for both sides.
