The Chicago Bears season was yet again headlined by struggles at the quarterback position and overall lackluster display from the offensive unit. It didn't help that they were in the same division as the Green Bay Packers, who featured one of the most efficient offenses we have seen in a while.

With NFL Free Agency set to begin soon, the Bears must find a way to get better on offense. If it hurts their divisional opponent at the same time, then it's twice as good. Chicago must find a way to solidify their offensive line, and stealing Lane Taylor from Green Bay would be a great start in doing so.

The Bears offensive line again struggled last season. No matter who is starting at quarterback in 2021, this unit needs to be better, especially at offensive guard. Germain Ifedi, starting guard for the Bears, received a grade of 65.5 from Pro Football Focus. Alex Bars was far worse, getting a grade of 53.3 in his 12 games.

Taylor is coming off a season-ending knee injury in Week 1 last season. This was disappointing for him and Packers fans alike, as he signed a one-year prove-it deal after a previous injury. So, injury risk is clearly a factor, but Taylor is a talented guard when healthy.

The former Packer was among the notable highlights in camp last offseason. He also played extremely well against the Minnesota Vikings in his lone game, finishing with a grade of 81.6. Taylor would be a cheap way to upgrade at the position this offseason.
