While the NFL offseason has yet to officially begin, teams are already gearing up to make a run at Tee Higgins. The Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver is expected to be one of the hottest names on the trade market this offseason, as some believe the Bengals are open to moving him before the final year of his rookie contract.

For his part, Higgins addressed the trade rumors that have been swirling around him recently.

Tee Higgins Trade Rumors

Higgins said he hopes he and his teammates stay together for a long time and that he wants to stay with Cincinnati.

Unfortunately for Higgins, that isn't up to him and may prove easier said than done. The Bengals are incredibly fortunate to have him, Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase all on rookie contracts right now, giving them a young and cheap controllable core to build around. Their affordable nucleus of young talent is a major reason why they made the Super Bowl last year and reached the AFC title game this year.

Those players are all going to start getting expensive soon, however, which will make it difficult for Cincinnati to keep all of them. Given that Higgins is the team's WR2 after Chase, he's been deemed more expendable, especially since he would be a WR1 on most teams and would fetch a huge haul in a trade.

With Higgins coming off back-to-back seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards, he'd certainly be an attractive trade chip. Time will tell if the Bengals decide to move the 24-year-old this offseason or if they keep him around for another potential Super Bowl run.

As it stands, Cincinnati is currently tied for the third-best championship odds for 2024 (+900) on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
