Stanley Cup Odds Have Lightning Slightly Favored Over Bruins, Avalanche, Blues and Capitals

We're heading into the home stretch of the 2019-20 NHL season, and the Tampa Bay Lightning (+700) are currently slight favorites to win the Stanley Cup, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

They'll face some stiff competition from teams like the Boston Bruins, however, as Boston currently has the second-best odds to win it all at +800.

Interestingly, the Bruins are ahead of the Lightning in the standings, checking in with 80 points to Tampa Bay's 75, so these odds aren't exactly reflective of the team's records.

Following that top two, the Colorado Avalanche, St. Louis Blues and Washington Capitals are in a three-way tie for the third-best odds at +900. The Capitals' 77 points is second only to the Bruins, and their 199 goals scored ties them with Tampa Bay for the second-most in the league.

There's still plenty of time left for a dark-horse team to make a late-season run, as is often the case in the NHL. But for now, there seems to be a pretty clear five-team hierarchy at the top, as the Penguins, who have the sixth-best odds, are listed at +1100 to win it all.
