Stanley Cup Odds Have Lighting, Bruins, Blues and Capitals Fighting for Top Spot

As we're essentially at the halfway point of the 2019-20 NHL season, the odds to win the Stanley Cup are starting to take shape and four teams seem to be rising to the top.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are leading the way with +850 odds, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. However, there are three teams not too far behind, as the Boston Bruins, St. Louis Blues and Washington Capitals are all tied with +950 odds.

The Lightning are leading in the odds despite currently trailing the Bruins (66 points) in the standings by six points, the Capitals (67) by seven and the Blues (68) by eight.

While those margins can be made up in just a handful of games, it might reveal how the oddsmakers feel about this talented Lightning team.

It will be interesting to see how the odds move throughout the back half of the season as these four teams jockey for position in the actual standings.

Of course, we could also see a new team sneak up, like the Colorado Avalanche (+1100), Dallas Stars (+1200), Pittsburgh Penguins (+1400), Carolina Hurricanes (+1600) or Toronto Maples Leafs (+1600).

While there seems to be a clear top four contenders right now, there's still plenty of time for these odds to shift as the season progresses.
