With veteran starters being scooped off the market in NFL free agency, quarterback-needy teams may ramp up trade talks in the coming weeks to secure their QB1 for next season. That could include trading up in April's draft to select a stud rookie, or pursuing a big name like Deshaun Watson.

With Watson still available, a handful of teams remain interested.

Deshaun Watson Trade Rumors

The Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos and New York Jets are said to still be in the race to acquire Watson. The QB's trade request and the Houston Texans' standoffish stance to any deal has left this situation up in the air, but insiders seem convinced this dispute will end up with Watson playing for a new team in 2021.

It's no surprise that these teams are in the hunt for Watson. Some seem ready to move on from their QBs (Carolina, San Francisco, New York), and some have unproven young starters who aren't sure of things just yet (Philadelphia, Miami, Denver).

A Watson deal would immediately give any team their franchise QB of the future, but it'll likely cost a fortune. Still, with the free-agent market drying up and fierce competition expected over this year's top QB prospects, a Watson trade remains one possibility for teams in need of a new quarterback.
