The Seattle Seahawks have a chance to cement their lead atop the NFC West with a win over the New York Giants in Week 8. Fans will be glad to hear that the team's receiving core may be at full strength in a tough matchup. Optimism is rising after the latest injury updates on Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.

Seattle Seahawks Injury News

Lockett is considered a game-time decision ahead of the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, but there is hope that he will be able to suit up. The Pro Bowl talent was able to practice in a limited capacity this past week as he dealt with hamstring and rib issues. It's possible Seattle plays it safe with a capped snap count.

Meanwhile, Metcalf is expected to give it a go just one week after he was carted off the field with what looked to be a serious knee injury. The 24-year-old was diagnosed with a patellar tendon injury, which usually comes with a multi-week recovery timeline. Metcalf has proven to be a different kind of beast.

This is a massive development considering the lack of depth Seattle has at WR behind its pair of stars. Veteran Marquise Goodwin and second-year pro D'Wayne Eskridge rank third and fourth on the depth chart. It's a duo that has combined for only 201 yards and 2 touchdowns on 16 receptions.

Lockett has not missed a game over the last three seasons and is averaging 66.9 yards per contest in 2022. Metcalf has been every bit as advertised as well, posting 13.5 yards per reception for the third time in the last four years. A final update on their statuses should come an hour before kickoff.

The Seahawks are slated as a 3-point home favorite against the Giants, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
