Nike and the MLB impressed a lot of fans during the 2021 season when they joined forces for the City Connect jersey campaign. The trend has continued into the 2022 with another handful of clubs slated to join the trend, including the Kansas City Royals.

Although the Royals' City Connect jersey hasn't been officially released yet, potential leaks were posted by Twitter user @NotARightFieldr on Thursday. The alleged leaked photo is somewhat blurry, however, it's clear enough to get a good idea as to what Kansas City is going for.

It's tough to tell with the lighting, but it's clear that the Royals' City Connect jerseys are much darker than what they typically wear. It also comes days after clear photos were posted on Twitter regarding the hats that go along with the uniforms.

It's easy to tell that the new logo pays homage to Kansas City's flag. It also stays consistent with the city's long-term history with fountains. Overall, it does a good job of incorporating the city of Kansas City with the Royals.

Royals fans won't have to wait too long to see their team don the new City Connect uniforms in an actual game. They're slated to debut the jerseys on Saturday, April 30 when they face the New York Yankees at 4:10 p.m. EST at Kauffman Stadium.
