On Tuesday, Smith reached a massive 5-year extension with his Ravens. He was also voted the team MVP by local media on Wednesday. On Thursday, Smith wrapped up this impressive week with Player of the Month honors.
It was announced Thursday that Smith was named the AFC's Defensive Player of the Month. This marks the first ever Player of the Month award for Smith in his five year NFL career.
Smith was all over the place in December/January. He recorded 66 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack and 1 interception in six games. All while the Ravens' defense allowed a measley 14.7 points per game to opponents.
This defensive effort was a big part in Baltimore going 3-3 down the stretch (without quarterback Lamar Jackson) and sneaking into the playoffs without their superstar QB.
The Ravens head into Wild Card Weekend as 10-point road underdogs against the Bengals, per NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
