Reds Finally Receive PTBNL From Mariners After Riley O'Brien Trade

In order to make room for Nick Lodolo at the beginning of the season, the Cincinnati Reds designated fellow pitcher Riley O'Brien for assignment. The team then agreed to a trade with the Seattle Mariners, dealing O'Brien for cash and a player to be named later.
Nearly two months later, that PTBNL has been decided.
The Reds acquired from the Mariners IF Luis Chevalier to complete the 4/16 trade that sent RHP Riley O'Brien to Sea for a player to be named or cash. He will be assigned to the Arizona Complex League.

Cincinnati has acquired infielder Luis Chevalier as part of their return for that mid-April deal. Chevalier will join the Reds' Arizona Complex League affiliate to kick off his tenure with his new team.
The Dominican product turned just 20 years in January. He slashed .221/.345/.329 while recording 3 home runs and 21 RBIs across 140 at-bats as part of the Mariners' ACL affiliate in 2021.
Splitting time between second base (198.0 innings), shortstop (79.0 innings) and left field (48.0 innings), the 20-year-old has flashed some positional flexibility. He'll look to impress his new club and work his way up from the rookie league.
O'Brien, meanwhile, has made just one appearance for Seattle, tossing a scoreless inning on May 7 before heading back to Triple-A.
