The Baltimore Ravens need to make some moves this offseason if they're to keep up in the AFC. One key area to address is the secondary, which was a huge weak spot throughout the 2021 season.

Thankfully Baltimore is projected to get the help it needs by signing a star safety in free agency.

Ravens Free Agent Targets 2022

ProFootballFocus predicts Tyrann Mathieu to leave the Kansas City Chiefs this offseason and sign a three-year, $48.75 million contract with the Ravens.

Mathieu should have plenty of suitors this offseason after three standout seasons with the Chiefs. The safety racked up 3 INTs (including a TD) and 6 pass deflections in 2021, earning his second straight Pro Bowl nod.

The almost 30-year-old is the exact kind of playmaker in the secondary Baltimore needs. He's recorded a combined 13 INTs, 4 fumble recoveries, 2 TDs and 27 passes defended over the past three years in KC, earning two First Team All-Pro nods as well.

The Ravens struggled mightily in coverage this past season as injuries decimated the roster. Baltimore ranked third-worst in Football Outsiders' pass-defense DVOA metric after being No. 10 in that category in 2020.

If Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey come back at full strength, adding Mathieu to this unit would make Baltimore a nightmare for opposing QBs in 2022.
