The Philadelphia Phillies made a splash this offseason, signing Bryce Harper and trading for JT Realmuto, along with an array of other moves.

But with 12 games left in the 2019 regular season, the Phillies have just a 1.5 percent chance to qualify for the MLB postseason, according to ESPN. Sitting three games back in National League Wild Card race, Philadelphia would need to leapfrog both the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs to take over the second Wild Card spot. The Washington Nationals, the team that Harper left for the Phillies, sit atop the NL Wild Card standings.

This puts the Phillies in a tough spot with 10-plus games left as they have +8500 odds to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Behind them are the Arizona Diamondbacks (+10000), the Boston Red Sox (+10000) and the San Francisco Giants (+10000), but those three squads are all but mathematically eliminated.

The Phillies are tied with the New York Mets heading into this afternoon's day game against the NL East champion Atlanta Braves. After the getaway game, they'll head out on a seven-game road trip to Cleveland and Washington, followed by a three-game set at home against the Miami Marlins.

While the Phillies odds are slim on paper, anything can happen over their final few games of the season. Let's wait and see where they stand come the final weekend of the season with three games against the NL-worst Marlins.
