After a foot injury kept him sidelined all of last year, New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson is back with a vengence during the 2022-23 season. He's putting together a fine campaign evidenced by 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals per night. Not to mention, explosive play after explosive play.
Unfortunately, Zion exited from Monday night's contest with the Philadlephia 76ers early because of a hamstring strain. The Pelicans updated his status for their next contest on Wednesday against the Houston Rockets.
Zion has already been ruled out for Wednesday's clash.
It's unclear the exact severity of Zion's injury, but ruling him out well in advance of the contest is not a great sign. The oft injured star has only played in 29 of New Orleans' 37 games because of various other ailments.
Brandon Ingram has also been notably absent from the Pelicans' lineup since late November.
