The Green Bay Packers claimed former Raiders safety Jonathan Abram off waivers after he was cut by Las Vegas. The Packers weren't the only team interested in bringing in the firmer first-round pick, though. The Packers, 3-6 on the season, had the highest waiver claim compared to the Denver Broncos (3-5), who also tried to scoop up Abrams.
Packers Claim Johnathan Abram
Still just 26 years old, Abram could really become a long-term piece for his new team. The Packers will need all the help they can get on filling defensive holes, especially after losing arguably their best defensive player for the season in Rashan Gary last week to a torn ACL.
Abram has 48 tackles on the season and two QB hits. If he can help sure up and provide meaningful depth to the Packers' secondary, it will be a very worthwhile signing. The Packers have a ton of issues to solve quickly if they want to turn their season around, they hope Abram can just come in and contribute.
