The No. 12-seed Oregon Ducks will continue their Cinderella run when they take on the No. 1-seed Virginia Cavaliers in the Sweet 16 on Thursday, March 28. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Cavaliers are 8.5-point favorites.
If you're thinking of placing a wager on this matchup, you might want to check out what some of the experts are saying first.
Oregon vs. Virginia Predictions
Sports Chat Place
The staff at Sports Chat Place is picking the Ducks to cover the spread, but they aren't confident enough to pick an outright winner. Sports Chat Place believes the Ducks are the hottest team in the NCAA Tournament right now, which could work in their favor against the Cavaliers.
College Football News
Pete Fiutak, of College Football News, is picking the Oregon Ducks to cover the spread and pull off the upset, predicting a final score of 63-61. Fiutak believes the Ducks defense can take away the Cavaliers' 3-point shot, which could give Oregon the edge here.
ESPN Basketball Power Index Matchup Predictor
However, ESPN's Matchup Predictor is not nearly as confident in the Ducks, giving the Cavaliers a 92.8-percent chance at advancing to the Elite 8. Considering the other experts both took Oregon to at least cover, it's surprising Virginia is so heavily favored.
Overall, two of the three experts we highlighted are picking the Ducks to cover the spread, with Fiutak even picking Oregon to win outright, but ESPN is predicting the Cavaliers will advance to the Elite 8.
