The Fiesta Bowl is just one of the many NCAA college football bowl games that will take place over the next month or so. The 51st edition of the annual event will be played between a pair of Top-25 teams in the No. 9 Oklahoma State Cowboys and No. 5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

FanDuel Sportsbook is projecting it to be a close affair, listing Notre Dame as the slight 2.5-point favorite. The Fighting Irish currently sit at -115 to cover the spread while the Cowboys have -105 odds.

Opening Fiesta Bowl Odds

When it comes to the moneyline, Notre Dame is favored to win at -140 odds, while Oklahoma State is the +114 underdog. The New Year's Day collision is also the first-ever head-to-head matchup between the Fighting Irish and Cowboys.

Even though Notre Dame has previously competed in five Fiesta Bowls, the Fighting Irish's 1-4 record leaves a lot to be desired. Their last appearance came in 2016 against Ohio State, where they ultimately lost 44-28, so they'll be hungry for their second win.

On the other hand, Oklahoma State's is a perfect 2-0 in previous Fiesta Bowl appearances. it's been 10 years since its last appearance ended in a thrilling 41-38 overtime victory over Stanford.

The 2022 Fiesta Bowl will take place at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, Jan. 1 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ.
