New Astros GM Has Deep Ties to Craig Biggio

After a lengthy search, the Houston Astros have landed on a new general manager. Houston announced Thursday that Dana Brown is the next GM for the defending World Series champions.
Brown joins the franchise after four years with the Atlanta Braves, working as their vice president of scouting. Not only does Brown tout a proven track record, but he also has deep ties to one of the best players in franchise history: Craig Biggio.
New Astros GM Dana Brown was a teammate of Craig Biggio at Seton Hall University, and Brown drafted Cavan Biggio while he was with the Blue Jays.

“The thing I’m most proud about for him is he’s jumped through all the hoops to get to where he’s at," Craig said.

As pointed out by Astros insider Brian McTaggart, Bown was a teammate of Biggio while the two played at Seton Hall University in the late 1980s. He also drafted Toronto Blue Jays infielder Cavan Biggio, Craig's son, during his tenure up north.
Craig said this of the Astros' hiring, "The thing I'm most proud about for him is he's jumped through all the hoops to get to where he's at."
Getting the nod of approval from a franchise hero is certainly a great start for Brown's career in Houston.
For now, the Astros are favorites (+600) to win the 2023 World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook.
