NBA DFS 1/24/2022
Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Monday, 1/24, NBA DFS action.
FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 1/24
Chris Paul Fantasy
Target Chris Paul, PG, Phoenix Suns ($10,300): Chris Paul has been in Point God form as of late. CP3 is averaging a whopping 13.0 assists over the last three games, along with 17.7 points and 3.7 rebounds. He's in full control at the point guard spot, especially with Cameron Payne injured, and he'll lead the charge again on Monday against the short-handed Utah Jazz. Not only are Donovan Mitchell and Hassan Whiteside out, but Bojan Bogdanovic and Rudy Gobert are both banged up as well. The latter two will likely be at less than full strength if they play, which would set Paul up for a great night as the primary playmaker against a hurting defense.
Jonas Valanciunas Fantasy
Target Jonas Valanciunas, C, New Orleans Pelicans ($7,500): Jonas Valanciunas is in line for an even larger role for the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. Leading scorer Brandon Ingram (22.4 PPG this season) is out, which would make the big man New Orleans' No. 1 option. The good news is that Valanciuas' numbers in eight games without Ingram this season (20.8 PPG/12.8 RPG/2.8 APG) all outpace his season averages (18.4 PPG/12.0 RPG/2.4 APG). Valanciunas is a near-lock on a nightly basis for a double-double with 31 in 42 games, and his scoring output could soar without Ingram in the lineup.
Chris Duarte Fantasy
Target Chris Duarte, SF, Indiana Pacers ($6,700): Injuries open up a big opportunity for Chis Duarte tonight as well. After seeing inconsistent minutes, Duarte is averaging 33.9 MPG over his last four contests. He's taken advantage of the extra playing time by putting up 19.8 PPG, 5.8 RPG and 4.0 APG along with 2.0 steals a night. Duarte has proven he's capable of stepping up with Malcolm Brogdon and Caris LeVert sidelined, and now Domantas Sabonis is out for Monday's game as well. Even if LeVert returns, there's a clear role for Duarte in this offense.
Julius Randle Fantasy
Avoid Julius Randle, PF/C, New York Knicks ($7,900): Julius Randle remains a fine play that can sometimes backfire. He has a combined 30 points over his last two games, thanks to a 4-point effort on Jan. 20. Low scoring nights are bound to happen, but that was his third single-digit scoring total in the past 11 games. His scoring struggles could continue on Monday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are holding opponents to the NBA's third-fewest PPG.
Nikola Vucevic Fantasy
Avoid Nikola Vucevic, C, Chicago Bulls ($9,400): Nikola Vucevic struggled mightily on Sunday night against the lowly Orlando Magic. Vucevic shot a putrid 4-of-19 from the field, managing just 13 points and committing 5 turnovers in 30 minutes. The Chicago Bulls big man also left the game briefly due to a knee injury before returning. It's hard to trust Vooch on the second night of a travel back-to-back, especially since he's also a little banged up.
