Not only does Mike McCarthy have the love of Dallas Cowboys fans as we approach his inaugural season, he has the love of odds-makers. McCarthy opens as a favorite to win NFL Coach of the Year on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Mike McCarthy Approval Rating 2020

McCarthy is not tied for first in approval rating, but he's sitting pretty high with a 93.6 percent fan rating according to reddit.com/r/dallascowboys. Out of a lower mark of 297 voters (comparatively speaking), the new Cowboys HC was generally liked, and his rating actually ranks him 13th for all NFL head coaches.

The NFL Draft has really spurred on McCarthy's outlook, as Dallas impressed by snagging CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs among others. Their roster was already one of the most talented in the league in 2019, but the popular opinion was that they were poorly coached. McCarthy will look to prove that first hand when he takes over in his first game since being fired by the Green Bay Packers.

McCarthy's first test will come in Los Angeles Week 1, against the LA Rams on Sept. 13, 2020. Despite being on the road, the Cowboys are a 2.5-point favorite over the Rams, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
