With the NBA season kicking off next week, teams are wrapping up their preseason schedules and preparing to finalize rosters for the upcoming season.
The Dallas Mavericks are one team with an open roster spot to fill, but they appear to be zeroing in on a veteran guard.

The Mavericks are reportedly nearing a deal with Facundo Campazzo, a 31-year-old point guard. The Argentina native spent the last two seasons with the Denver Nuggets, so he is familiar with the Western Conference.
Campazzo was mostly a reserve with Denver but earned starting minutes as well, starting 23 of his 130 games with the Nuggets. He flashed a solid three-point stroke as a rookie but struggled with his shot last year, regressing from both the floor and the line.
The former Nugget also showed quick hands and reflexes on defense, ranking fourth in steal percentage (2.7%) as a rookie.
With his well-rounded skill set, Campazzo looks like a solid option to round out Dallas' roster, especially if anything happens to superstar point guard Luka Doncic. The Mavericks will kick off their season on the road against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Dallas enters the year with +2700 odds to win the NBA Finals on FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds.
