After he struggled to begin his MLB career, Chicago White Sox starter Lucan Giolito has found his footing and established himself at the top of the White Sox rotation.

Ahead of the 2023 offseason, Giolito was entering his last arbitration eligible offseason before entering unrestricted free agency following the upcoming season.

Luckily, the team and Giolito were able to come to an agreement without having to go to arbitration. The two sides agreed on a one-year $10.4 million deal.

Giolito's breakout season came back in 2019 when he went 14-9 with a 3.41 ERA and a 1.064 WHIP and a whopping 228 strikeouts. While he has come back down to earth a little bit since then, breaking his three-year streak of sub-4.00 ERA in 2022, Giolito still remains a key piece to this White Sox team hoping to get back to contention in 2023.

The White Sox are currently +2500 to win the 2023 World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest MLB odds.
