Kenny Golladay Fantasy Outlook Makes Him Boom-or-Bust Value
By Larry Rupp

The New York Giants signed wide receiver Kenny Golladay to a four-year deal worth $72 million this past offseason in hopes that he can take over as their No. 1 target. However, his injury history and lack of chemistry in this offense makes him a boom-or-bust value in fantasy football this season.

Kenny Golladay Fantasy Value
Golladay has proven over his first four NFL seasons that he is a big play waiting to happen. He has improved his production every year and has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in a season twice already. Overall, he has also scored 21 touchdowns through 47 games played (39 starts).
While Golladay is healthy, he is a force to be reckoned with. He was on pace to end the 2020 season as a top-10 WR, which was a feat he accomplished in 2019 as well. Quarterback Daniel Jones could easily build a quick connection with a player that averages 16.8 yards per reception in his career.
On the other side, the 27-year-old is coming off a season-ending hip injury. Plus, Golladay has already suffered a minor leg injury during training camp. That should make fantasy managers question whether or not he is worth the price tag he comes with. He may need time to adjust to the Giants' style of play.
The former Detroit Lion currently has an average draft position of No. 64 overall and No. 26 amongst wide receivers in PPR leagues, according to FantasyPros. He comes with a lot more risk than other WRs around him such as Cooper Kupp and D.J. Moore.
All signs point to Golladay posting low-end WR2 numbers this season. Fantasy managers may just need to prepare in case Golladay does so through a couple of huge games instead of reliable every week production. Golladay checks in as the WR23 in The Duel's 2021 fantasy football rankings.
