The New York Jets did not finish the 2022 season strong after a hot start. After missing out on the playoffs yet again, the Jets have some work to do this offseason starting with the coaching staff.
On Wednesday, it was announced that offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur would be leaving the team. On Thursday, head coach Robert Saleh provided some context on that, saying New York had received "a lot of inquiries" on him, so the team decided to allow him to pursue those opportunities on his own.

Saleh also announced that offensive line coach John Benton was relieved of his duties as well. Neither coach performed particularly well this season, but neither of them was given much to work with either. The Jets struggled with quarterback issues all season, finishing 29th in scoring and 25th in yards.
The offensive line came into the season with some promise, but injuries helped derail any momentum that had been gained in the offseason. New York ranked 19th in sacks allowed per game and 27th in rushing yards per attempt.
The Jets have plenty of questions to answer this offseason, but who will be calling the plays on offense is now near the top of that list.
