The Jets on their fifth game of the season in Week 7, starting out an impressive and surprising 5-2 thus far, but they lost a major piece in Sunday's win. Rookie running back Breece Hall went down with a knee injury and it has now been confirmed that he suffered a torn ACL, ending his season.

Breece Hall Injury Update

This now leaves second-year pro Michael Carter as the lead back in the Jets backfield, a title many thought he would hold this season prior to the Jets drafting Hall. Hall's injury at this point will most likely keep him out until part of the way though next season, especially considering the Jets might want to play it safe with him considering he's still quite young.

Hall's rookie year was off to a great start, especially in recent weeks, coming into his own and showing off the potential he showed as a prospect. Hall has garnered 463 yards on the ground and 218 yards through the air, while totaling 5 touchdowns. He was truly becoming more of the workhorse-level back the Jets had envisioned.

The Jets head into a Week 8 matchup without Hall for the first time, against the New England Patriots. New York is a 2.5-point home underdog, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
