Jalen Lecque Stats
Originally committed to NC State before declaring for the 2019 NBA Draft, Lecque is a dynamic athlete who excels in transition. Lecque is fearless when attacking the rim and uses an explosive first step to blow by opponents and create space for his own shot.
While he's adept at creating his own looks, he struggles converting those into points. Lecque shot 15.8 percent from beyond the arc through 21 games with his AAU team, the New York Renaissance, according to D1Circut.com. Clearly, Lecque is less experienced than most of his peers in this year's NBA Draft class, so he'll likely need a few years of development before he's ready to play consistent minutes in the NBA.
While Lecque is raw and inexperienced, his upside potential could entice a team to take a second-round risk on him in the NBA Draft.

Jalen Lecque NBA Draft Predictions
Atlanta Hawks (No. 44), New York Knicks (No. 55)
Guard may not be the Atlanta Hawks' biggest need, but the team has a lot of draft capital this year, so they can afford to take a risk on a player like Lecque. While his shot will need time to develop, his athleticism and defensive upside could make him a nice pairing with Trae Young. Lecque has the raw ability to help make up for Young's defensive deficiencies, so he could be a solid fit in Atlanta.
What the New York Knicks do this summer is anyone's guess, but the team has recently seen some success with drafting players who decided to skip college. The Knicks drafted Mitchell Robinson in the second round last year, and he's already looking like a future anchor of New York's interior defense. Lecque is a similarly unproven prospect, but if given time to develop, he could really pay off down the road.
