The Giants Should Steal This Free Agent Away From the Dodgers

The San Francisco Giants will look to repeat a magical season in which they took the MLB by storm, winning a league-bets 107 games before falling to rival Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS.
San Francisco wants to recreate that success, and they can do so by targeting a key free agent on the Dodgers roster. Pitching was a strength and considering the current free-agent market, it makes sense for the Giants to double down on an elite staff.
That's why San Francisco should target veteran Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen before the season gets going.
Giants Free Agency
A quick look at the Giants' pitching stats in 2021 shows just how elite the arms were. San Francisco led the league with a stifling 2.99 bullpen ERA and ranked third in ERA by the starting rotation (3.44).
Jake McGee was a force at the back end of the Giants' bullpen, locking down 31 saves with a 2.72 ERA. But, today's version of baseball requires a slew of elite bullpen arms willing to make appearances during the most critical moments, whether it be the 7th inning, 8th inning or 9th.
After "struggling" (by his own standards) in 2020, Jansen was back to elite form a year ago. He locked down 38 saves while touting a 2.22 ERA and 11.2 strikeouts per nine innings. It's easy to imagine him recreating that success in a similarly deep Giants bullpen, and it takes away from their biggest rivals, so a win-win no matter which way you look at it.
