The New York Giants had a tough Week 11. They lost a home game in convincing fashion to the Detroit Lions, and to add injury to that, rookie wideout Wan'Dale Robinson sustained a serious knee injury.
Wan'Dale Robinson Injury Update
Following testing, Giants head coach Brian Daboll confirmed the team's worst fears on Monday, Robinson had suffered a torn ACL. The injury will end his season and depending on how recovery goes, could cause him to miss parts of next season as well.
Robinson hadn't been blowing up the stat sheet, but he was shoqing some signs of real potential. As a shifty, speed-based receiver, Wan'Dale's ACL is crucial to him, making quick cuts and defenders miss in the open field.
Unfortunately, Robinson isn't the first Giants wideout to suffer a torn ACL this season. Veteran Sterling Shepard was dealt the same fate earlier this season. With the Giants already addressing a change to their field in 2023, it might be time to rethink their course of action and consider a real grass field, with multiple players pointing to the turf field as a potential for all these lower body injuries.
The Giants receiving corps was already thin and now gets evern thinner. Reports suggest Odell Beckham Jr.'s choices are down to the Giants and Cowboys, and it looks like the Giants may need the free-agent wideout more than ever.
The team is preparing, coincidentally, for a Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, where New York is an 8.5-point road underdog in Week 12, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
