The San Francisco Giants have been one of the surprises of the season thus far, sitting atop the NL West with a 19-13 record. They're 1.5 games ahead of the San Diego Padres and 2.5 games up on the Los Angeles Dodgers, who sit No. 3 and No. 1 in FanDuel Sportsbook's odds to win the World Series, respectively.

Part of the reason for San Francisco's hot start has been its great pitching staff, which collectively boasts the seventh-best team ERA in the league. But that group could be taking a bit of a hit.

The team announced that Aaron Sanchez has been moved to the 10-day Injured List due to bicep tightness.

That's obviously not what Giants fans want to hear. Sanchez has been excellent in 2021, sporting a 3.18 ERA through 28 1/3 innings pitched.

This news makes it likely that Sanchez will miss multiple starts, though there's no concrete update as to when he could potentially return.

Hopefully he can get back to full strength soon, as San Francisco will need him in the rotation if it hopes to maintain its surprising start.
