Fantasy Matchup to Exploit: Davante Adams Could Struggle Against Xavier Rhodes in Week 2
By Max Staley

Entering the season, Davante Adams was drafted as a no-brainer WR1, finishing the offseason with an average draft position (ADP) of eighth overall, per FantasyPros.com.
Adams got off to a slow start in Week 1 due to a brutal matchup against the Chicago Bears, however, he could post a similarly lackluster game in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Julio Jones lined up against Xavier Rhodes on 70% of his routes in Week 1. He saw 1 target and had no catches in Rhodes' coverage.

Minnesota's top corner, Xavier Rhodes, held Julio Jones to just one target and no receptions when he was responsible for covering the Atlanta Falcons' top weapon in Week 1. That's concerning for Adams, as he's clearly the Green Bay Packers' top threat, and could be shadowed by Rhodes for a majority of the game.
If Rhodes does manage to contain Adams, Aaron Rodgers could be forced to funnel targets elsewhere, with the most likely candidates being Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Jimmy Graham and Geronimo Allison.
Davante Adams didn't realize he had 3 players covering him ?

MVS, in particular, is a name to look out for this week, as he impressed before leaving Week 1 due to an injury, catching a 47-yard bomb from Rodgers. Allison wasn't targeted in Week 1, but he caught all six of his targets for 64 yards in his lone game against the Vikings last season.
At the end of the day, Adams is likely too talented to be taken out of your fantasy lineup this week, but owners would be wise to temper their expectations. If you need a sneaky play at WR, both MVS and Allison could offer some value in Week 2.
