With The Masters coming up next week, PGA Tour players are gearing up for the first major of the year with this last tournament, the Valero Texas Open.

Let's take a look at some golfers to consider when putting together your fantasy team this week.

2022 Valero Texas Open Fantasy Picks

Rory McIlroy Fantasy

He might be expensive, but McIlroy has been on fire this season. He has finished outside the top-18 just one time in his five starts this season. He also has a win in that bunch. When it comes to TPC San Antonio, Rory has only played one pro tournament here, but he grabbed a second-place finish in that event. When it comes to the field, you could argue Rory is not only the most talented, but also playing the best this season, which could turn into a lethal combination.

Hideki Matsuyama Fantasy

With much of the tour taking the week off prior to The Masters, the field at the Valero Texas Open is a little weaker than normal. An experienced player like Hideki Matsuyama can take advantage of that. Matsuyama has had a really solid season so far, already snagging two wins and six top-20 finishes in just 10 starts so far. While he doesn't have a huge resume at this course, expect him to come out ready to play as he tunes up for his attempt at a second Green Jacket next week.

Kevin Streelman Fantasy

Kevin Streelman has had a very up-and-down season so far, but he comes into this event on the upswing. He has three top-22 finishes in his last four starts. You're getting him at a much better number than the first two guys on this list and he could turn out to be a sneaky great play. It gets even better when you look at his recent history at TPC San Antonio. Streelman has placed in the top-10 in his last two starts on this course and has four top-15 finishes in six career starts here. He's also never missed the cut at this event.
