The New Orleans Saints head into the offseason with a few question marks surrounding the team, but the biggest one remains at the quarterback position. One ESPN insider recently gave some insight on why a reunion between QB Jameis Winston and the Saints is still very much a possibility.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler recently explained how many people around the league expect New Orleans to re-sign Winston in free agency. He points out the fact that most of the coaching staff remained intact despite head coach Sean Payton retiring. The familiarity for Winston has to be tempting.
"Offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael knows how to use Winston and maximize his skill set."- Jeremy Fowler
Fowler also alluded to how much play-action New Orleans used in 2021 when Winston was leading the offense. The team tailored the scheme to fit the 28-year-old's abilities and it worked. Winston led the Saints to a 5-2 record and threw 14 touchdowns compared to 3 interceptions.
Of course, Winston tore his ACL in Week 8 and was forced to watch from the sidelines for the rest of the season. A combination of Taysom Hill, Trevor Siemian and Ian Book combined to post a 4-6 record the rest of the way as the Saints missed the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
Winston is regarded as one of the best free agent QBs on the market and will draw interest from multiple teams. New Orleans is an obvious landing spot, but it'll be interesting to see is he opts to return. The Saints have odds set at +3400 to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
