Erik McCoy Player Profile

Erik McCoy displays rare athleticism for a player of his size, and really excels in pass protection. The A&M product shows great awareness on passing plays and does a good job sustaining his blocks against interior pass rushers.

However, McCoy doesn't come without any red flags, as his less-than-ideal length (33" arms) and suspect technique are a little troubling. But with the right coaching, McCoy still projects as an all-around capable center who could have a bright future in the NFL.

Erik McCoy Draft Predictions

- Minnesota Vikings (No. 50), New Orleans Saints (No. 62)

The Minnesota Vikings' offense line was an absolute mess last season, and the team could seriously use an upgrade on the interior. The Vikings' incumbent starter at center, Pat Elflein, was a huge disappointment in his sophomore season, so McCoy could be an upgrade if Minnesota selects him in the second round.

The New Orleans Saints just lost Pro Bowl center Max Unger to retirement this offseason, and are in desperate need of a replacement. McCoy could be a seamless fit on the Saints' offensive line, and could make an impact from day one.
