These Two Eagles Veterans Could Be Gone by the End of This Week

The Philadelphia Eagles are entering a new era. Carson Wentz is out, and he'll be replaced by Jalen Hurts at quarterback. But Wentz isn't the only Eagle who will be leaving town this offseason. The team is currently $25 million over the projected cap, meaning GM Howie Roseman has plenty of work to do.
Philadelpiha is reportedly looking into moving two key starters this offseason: OG Brandon Brooks and TE Zach Ertz.

Eagles Trade Rumors
The Eagles' interest in moving on from Ertz has been well documented at this point, but Brooks is a much more surprising revelation. When healthy, Brooks is one of the best guards in the business. He was ProFootballFocus' highest-graded guard in 2019, but missed the entire 2020 campaign after tearing his Achilles.
The 31-year-old carries a cap hit of $14.5 million, but he'd also carry a $13 million dead cap hit. Trading him wouldn't exactly help Philadelphia get under the cap much, so it's hard to see why his name is coming up in talks.
Still, a healthy Brooks is still an incredibly valuable piece. If the Eagles get a good return, he could be on the move this offseason.
