The Philadelphia Eagles clearly understood that their porous run defense needed addressing after a Week 10 loss to the Washington Commanders. The team was quick to fill the gaps, signing former Pro Bowler Linval Joseph to a free agent contract.

On Thursday, Philadelphia doubled down on the defensive tackle position.

NFL insider Adam Schefter reports Philadelphia inked a one-year deal with free agent DT Ndamukong Suh.

Suh is one year older than Joseph (35), and one of the best defensive tackles in recent memory. He owns a long list of accolades including five Pro Bowl appearances, three All-Pro nominees and a member of the 2010's Hall of Fame class.

The former No. 2 overall draft pick spent five years with the Detroit Lions before bouncing around to the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Suh won a Super Bowl title with the Bucs in 2021 and brings a wealth of playoff experience to an Eagles squad with lofty aspirations.

Philadelphia is hoping the two free agent additions can remedy a defensive line that ranks 28th in Football Outsiders' run-defense DVOA metric.
