The Miami Dolphins have a tough quarterback decision to make ahead of a Week 4 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. On one hand, starter Tua Tagovailoa is working to overcome multiple injuries and may not be fully healthy on Thursday. On the other hand, he is still their best chance of winning.

Head coach Mike McDaniel knows how important this decision is and doesn't want to wait until the last minute to make it. He explained on Tuesday that the team hopes to come to a conclusion on a starting QB on Wednesday or Thursday morning. It'll either be Tagovailoa or Teddy Bridgewater.

Tagovailoa was a part of one of the more controversial situations of Week 3. After taking a hit in the backfield against the Bills, the 24-year-old struggled to stay on his feet and had to be held up by his teammates. Everyone assumed it was a concussion, but Tagovailoa returned to finish out the game.

Both McDaniel and Tagovailoa cited in their postgame comments that a back issue was to blame for the worrisome tumble. The Alabama product cleared concussion protocol during halftime and remains out of concussion protocol now. Tua's status will come down to how manageable his pain is.

The Dolphins wouldn't be 3-0 on the season if it weren't for Tagovailoa's efforts. He has thrown for the second-most yards in the NFL (925) and owns an impressive 8:2 touchdown to interception ratio. Tua is going to do everything he can to play in this game, so keep an eye on his ensuing injury updates.

The Dolphins are slated as 3.5-point road underdogs against the Bengals, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
