The Indianapolis Colts are the talk of the NFL for all the wrong reasons after hiring Jeff Saturday as interim head coach. Despite all the attention on this situation, the team still has a game to play on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.
It turns out three players will be unable to suit up for Saturday's debut in Week 10.
EDGE Shaquille Leonard, tight end Jelani Woods and running back Deon Jackson are all out for Sunday's contest.
Leonard is obviously the biggest loss here. The three-time First Team All-Pro selection is a disruptor when on the field, but that's been a major struggle for him this season. He's played in just three of the team's nine games so far and been under 50% of the defensive snaps in two of those contests he's appeared in.
Being without Woods and Jackson, meanwhile, hurts the Colts' depth heading into Week 10. Woods has caught three touchdowns on seven receptions in 2022. Jackson's seen significant run with fellow RB Jonathan Taylor nursing a nagging ankle injury, but he hurt his knee in the team's previous game and won't be able to back up the latter in this one.
Indianapolis heads into Sunday's game against Las Vegas as 4.5-point underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
